What is the MEPCC?
The Mangrove Emergency Planning and Communication Committee was established following the 1994 bush fires and pursuant to the Royal Commission recommendation that our local community should accept responsibility for organising and conducting it’s own contingency plans in conjunction with the Police, Fire Control Officers and local Bush Fire Brigades. The main work of the MEPCC is to establish and maintain a telephone tree as the most simple and efficient means of quickly reaching the residents in our area. The MEPCC is an incorporated association with the NSW Office of Fair Trading.

The MEPCC is supported by the following:
Gosford City Council
NSW Department of Primary Industries
NSW Department of Land & Water Conservation
NSW Rural Fire Service
NSW Police Service
WICEN NSW Communications

The MEPCC Website was officially launched on Saturday 22nd September 2007 to
a gathering of interested local residents at the Old Fire Shed, Mangrove
Mountain  Past President of the MEPCC Gerry Bolla and his wife Lynn were guests of honour.
Gerry praised the ongoing work of the MEPCC and the significance of the
Telephone Tree. Among its many features the MEPCC website has facility for
either electronic or hardcopy submission of resident contact details for
inclusion to the Telephone Tree. The MEPCC extends its gratitude to the
Mangrove Mountain Computer Club for both the launch venue and development of
the website.  Thanks also to Peats Ridge-Kulnura Scouts for serving
refreshments and BBQ on the day.
